This puzzle first appeared on Stewart Coffin’s 1971 brochure. It is made of twelve identical pieces that are made up of five sticks each. These then assemble into two opposing halves.
If the angles of the pieces are slightly wrong, assembling it in halves becomes impossible, but it can still work by explosion / coordinate motion.
- This Jupiter has slightly wrong angles. All pieces must be assembled at the same time.
- After that coordinate motion, small holes remain visible, and the pairs are slightly misaligned.
