What emails are you receiving where this is happening?
All the emails I get from the forum have meaningful subjects, such as "Activate user account, "Topic reply notification - "Problems & Issues"" or "New private message has arrived". The only place that mentions 'forum' is in the return address: 'forum@puzzle....'

Chris,

It was the reply address for the message which is forum@puzzleplace etc Google shows it simply as Forum (I assume that's the alias it sees). The topic itself if valid (although it doesn't mention Puzzle Place). Was just trying to see if it could be more friendly, howeverI suspect without changing the email address, that's unlikely.

You should probably just ignore me ;)

Ah, that makes sense.
in that case, I suspect that a soultion may be to save the forum@puzzle-place address in your mail contacts as "Puzzle Place Message" or whatever then it should find/replace the name when new mail arrives?.... maybe?

Hi Chris,

I got two notifications of new messages in topics. But I see no new messages.
Did you just test something?

Or were there some bogus messages you removed?

Error in system?

best regards,

Splinter

We had a spammer slip through the net  They posted generic messages in numerous topics, but the posts (and user) have now been deleted.

That explains all!

Thanks for being so aware :!:

PS Are you sure those weren't messages with some puzzle element in it? E.g. when you solve the secret code, you receive some free Viagra

Thanks again,
