Name of this classic burr cube?

Post by flawr » September 1st, 2017, 9:30 am

Hello Puzzlers,
I recently found myself again wondering about this "classics" among the burr puzzles, that usually comes in the shape of a cube, sphere or barrel. Is there any more or less accepted name? Image
As far as I know it is quite an old and wide-spread desgin. Unfortunately I couldn't find it on the wiki (there actually seems to be a CSS issue right now.) and puzzlewillbeplayed.
happy puzzling!

...looks like a standard kumiki cube... think the basics of the design have been around for hundreds of years and haven't seen a specific name for it, hence the generic suggestion. :-)

Hi, Flawr,
It is in the wiki. Since I didn't know its name either, I called it the "barrel" : https://www.puzzle-place.com/wiki/Barrel
