Need Help With 12 Piece Burr(?)
Need Help With 12 Piece Burr(?)
Do I have a complete puzzle? I recently bought what is possibly a burr puzzle. There are 12 identical pieces.
Is this a complete puzzle and do you have a solution?- bluesign2k

Re: Need Help With 12 Piece Burr(?)
That's an interesting one. They're not pieces I immediately recognise but 12 pieces doesn't sound unreasonable for a sparse burr. Burrtools is yet to give me an assembly for these pieces...
Re: Need Help With 12 Piece Burr(?)
Thanks for looking. I am not very good at solving burr puzzles, especially when I don't know whether I have all of the pieces. I found several 12 piece burrs on the internet but none have non-symmetrical notches. These have notches on either end that are offset by 90 degrees.
These pieces are about 12 inch square and about 3 1/2 inches long which is typical of other wood puzzles I have.
Please let me know if you find a solution.

Two pieces are different, 3rd from left and 2nd from right. I have a bamboo puzzle that uses these pieces, see picture for the intended shape. I don't know it's name though.

Louis, Thanks for noticing that 2 pieces are different. Now the challenge is to figure out how to put it together.
Will let you know when I succeed.

Is this the same as the Dungeon puzzle without the ball? http://www.seriouspuzzles.com/i5259.asp
Re: Need Help With 12 Piece Burr(?)
I did get it together without the ball in the middle. At least I now know what it looks like assembled.
Thanks for the help- bluesign2k
