Post by arteludes » October 22nd, 2012, 2:50 pm

Hello
Summer holidays are over. It’s time to go back to work and make new puzzles. So you will find here our latest production : puzzles featuring both aesthetics and high difficulty or simply the pleasure of their manipulation.

CANNICH

This is the last puzzle created by Alfons Eyckmans and crafted by Maurice Vigouroux.
The Cannich is the continuation of the Phelan. This puzzle will keep you busy for hours trying to remove but one piece.

Maurice Vigouroux made this puzzle in Dark Walnut. Some were also made with the central pieces in Kotibe.
This puzzle is just polished and waxed so as to be enjoyable to play with.

Unlike his brother, the Phelan, here, it will be difficult to release the first piece. 42 moves are needed for that. But, like its brother, the rest of the pieces are difficult to remove too.
Without the solution file, the reassembling of this puzzle borders the inhuman.

You will find the presentation of this puzzle on the Puzzle Place Wiki.

Moves : 42.4.1.11.4.7.3.2.2.5.2

Four in the Vice

It is a great pleasure to go on producing Stéphane CHOMINE’s creations. Today, we propose 2 puzzles that are simple, though very interesting : Simple-UC-Trapped and Four-in-the-Vice.

The Four-in-the-Vice is a burr with a mobile frame. This new configuration allows interesting moves.
It has been made in 4 different precious woods : Purpleheart, Padauk, Niove and Kotibe. All colors are natural. These puzzles are just polished and waxed.

Four in the Vice, half disassembled (Niove)

This puzzle was tested by some of our friends. It came out that for beginners, this puzzle is difficult, because it makes them turn into circles. It’s easier to take apart for an enthusiast, but remains difficult to reassemble.

Simple UC Trapped

Here is the second puzzle created by Stéphane CHOMINE : Simple UC Trapped

Stéphane CHOMINE has created more than 800 designs. Few were made, and less were commercially available. Most of his puzzles are difficult to solve, rather suited for very experienced puzzlers.
This game was created in 2011. In my opinion, it’s one of the simplest puzzle created by Stéphane.
You can find more information about this designer here.

Beware that only 8 puzzles are available, including the following versions :
White and Black : ASH and WACAPOU
Black and Yellow : WACAPOU and PADAUK

All colors are natural. These puzzles are just polished and waxed.
Important : the 2 mobile pieces are crafted in one block of wood without glue or dowel, for the sheer beauty of it, but it’s more fragile than other ways to craft. It is suited for careful puzzlers.
