Transmission puzzle by OSKAR

Hi Non-Twisty Puzzles fans,

Transmission is a gearing puzzle with four five-teeth gears. The object of the puzzle is to place the four gears onto the four pins in a square, and make the gears spin smoothly. If the gears would have been regular gears, the spinning would work for any placement of the gears. However the sides of the gears are not regular. At some places of contact, one gears spins slightly faster than the other, at some at the same speed and at some at a slightly slower speed. In its solved state when spinning, each of the gears slightly accelerates or decelerates all of the time. The concept of the puzzle is based on the Ferguson Gear Paradox, see also here, here, here and here. This puzzle was my IPP exchange gift in 2005. Now, NestorGames is making a small-scale production.
