Re: My puzzle project

Yes this puzzle is truly a-maze-ing, and I don't often say that. I wonder if/why a routefinding puzzle like this has not been made before. today we may find out if James has anything similar in his huge collection, I hope he doesn't. Also looking forward to feedback from others who try out the proto...

Re: 5 different kinds of high level burrs

That is an impressive collective review, thanks for the comparison and the picture to identify them! Since I like Daedalus so much, I thought I should buy/try the others in that category too. But then you suggest that condor's peeper is easier, leaving me very confused... I considered condor's peepe...

Re: Half hour variation?

You are right Chris, I misinterpreted the picture on the JimPuzzles site because of the angle it was taken at, it is showing the same pieces indeed. Thanks for pointing that out. Feel free to use my picture if you have no better one, that particular puzzle came from woodwonders.

Re: Half hour variation?

A bit of investigation makes me think that the"disassembled" picture shown on the wiki shows the "IP five piece cube". The picture on johnrausch also looks like that puzzle, although it is not completely disassembled and the page states it has 6 pieces. A look in the puzzling world of polyhedral dis...

Half hour variation?

I (think I) own a "half hour" puzzle. It took me more than half an hour to assemble the first time, and I have found only one solution so far (not using burrtools yet, but this may be a reason to try it out). After reading Kevins recent review of this puzzle and looking at the picture he linked to, ...

Re: Oskar's Medal Maze

The maze medal was designed for the international mathematical olympiad 2011 in Amsterdam last month (ref: http://www.puzzelkunst.nl/maze-medal-p-1539.html ) Apparently Hanayama produced it, but decided not to add it to their cast series (yet?). Maybe because it is slightly more expensive to produce...

Livecubes

In a recent post Guillaume mentioned using a set of livecubes to build puzzles. At MPP3 Richard Gain also mentioned using them for prototyping puzzles. I bet building puzzles (especially burrs or interlocking cubes) from modular cubes is much easier than cutting them from wood, and re-using the cube...

Reference to the wiki

Oh look, this eBay seller even refers to the puzzle-place wiki as "wikipedia".

Nice little puzzle by the way, but awful shipping costs.

Re: What puzzle is this?

You'll see... at MPP3.
It is still my favorite because it won't be solved by random trying, you really need to 'do an Allard' on this one.
