Re: Gordian knot / Extreme Torture

Any news on this?
Did you manage to make and test it?

Re: Gordian knot / Extreme Torture

To be clear: I don't expect Contortion to actually be a level 29. I've looked at how Burrtools does it and it looks like a 22-23 or something like that, but I'm not sure since rotations are difficult to envision in one's head and thinking of all possible states with all possible rotations is impossi...

Re: Gordian knot / Extreme Torture

Hi there.
I have come up with a puzzle named "Contortion" that is of the same shape and of level 29.
http://puzzlewillbeplayed.com/6BoardBurr/Contortion/
It is untested in the real world, though.
It would be nice if someone could make one and test it for rotations :)

Re: Difficulty level of all my burrs

Thanks for the kind words.
Steve Nichols, who printed my puzzles, told my of that EPP event and that he would take my puzzle to it.
I saw some pictures as well but I didn't know there was a book.
Is there any digital version of that book I could have a look at?

Re: Xenon, Tantalum and Fermium

Thanks for reviewing my puzzles, Guillaume. I'm glad people enjoy the creations I hurt my brain over night after night :) I have a little to say about the Fermium and the unlocking of the second piece, though. You find it hard and illogical, whereas I personally find it very logical and easy, so I'l...

Re: Difficulty level of all my burrs

Don't make the Silicium, Guillaume. There's nothing there for you, I'm afraid. It's very simple and designed to be just that. I'm sure that, with your understanding of the others in the family, you can look at the pieces and find the solution by just looking and assembling in your head. I just creat...

Re: Difficulty level of all my burrs

Wow! Congratulations man! I never thought people would actually solve that. If you like the Tantalum, you should try my Fermium and Molybdenum. Now that I come to think of it ... Guillaume, have you had a chance to play with my Molybdenum yet? It's based on similar principles as my other puzzles, bu...

Re: Difficulty level of all my burrs

Hey Guillaume :) Nice comprehensive list you made! I like it. I may check out some puzzles you rated highly like the "4 in the vise" or "Daedalus". I can not understand why you like my Tantalum better than my Fermium ... but it's your list so you get to decide ;) What you should consider, though, is...

Re: Your top 5 favourite puzzles

I must say I'm flattered, Guillaume, to be part of your list :) I find it difficult to think of 5 "best" puzzles, since most of my interest goes to burrs. The list is in no particular order ... I think it's impossible to name "the best puzzle" since there are so many categories and it's like compari...
